Sepsis remains a common diagnosis, sadly with a high mortality rate. Management of sepsis is a complicated clinical challenge requiring early recognition and management of infection, hemodynamic issues, and other organ dysfunctions. Nurses are often the first to encounter the patient at risk for sepsis. -Time is of the essence in the identification and management of sepsis. Robin Gilbert, MSN, RN, CEN, CPEN will share new tips to help you pick up on clinical signs/symptoms that could indicate a concern and will provide you with up-to-date information to guide initial interventions for the patient.
