Children’s subjective well-being will be reviewed as a practice, research, and clinical framework to help practitioners understand how children assess their own lives. The session will review Children’s Worlds, an international research project that measured children’s subjective well-being in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. Individual and contextual factors with geographic and cultural variation will be examined.
Dr. Lawler is President of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) in Yakima, Washington. Ā PNWU educates and trains health care professionals, emphasizing service to rural and medically underserved communities throughout the Northwest. He has 35 years of professional experience in health and human services, including 24 years as a leader in higher education at PNWU, University of South Dakota, and University of California, Davis. He was the US Principal Investigator of Children’s Worlds, an international research project addressing children’s well-being.
