ADAPT Practitioner Training Program is primarily oriented toward licensed clinicians-such as medical doctors, nurse practitioners, naturopaths, chiropractors, and acupuncturists-who have the ability to order the lab tests and prescribe the treatments that I teach in the course. (For a comprehensive list of these labs, along with which practitioners are eligible to order them and what countries they can be ordered from, see this page.)
However, I strongly believe in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that includes a variety of practitioners: not only clinicians that can work independently, but also allied providers that work as part of a healthcare team, including licensed professionals like registered nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists, and certified nutritionists and health coaches.
As I explain in this blog post, I believe these -allied professionals-practitioners who work as part of a healthcare team-are an important part of the future of medicine and can provide a much needed additional layer of support to patients. This is why I’ve opened ADAPT to qualified coaches or nutritionists who either work under the direct supervision of a licensed medical provider, or who have training in the life/medical sciences and an active private practice.
Who is ADAPT not for?
The ADAPT Practitioner Training Program is a professional level course for clinicians and qualified allied providers who wish to incorporate a functional and ancestral approach into their practice.
The following groups are not eligible for ADAPT Practitioner Training Program:
- Health professionals and allied providers who do not meet the eligibility criteria (due to a lack of experience and/or education)
- Consumers without pre-existing training who are seeking to start a career in Functional Medicine or ancestral health
