Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), the holistic approach considered to be the grandparent of cognitive Ā approaches, created by the renowned and brilliant pioneer Albert Ellis PhD, is most effective as a Ā brief therapy for lessening, transforming, healing and preventing emotional disturbances. This Short Ā Course includes a live clinical demonstration, and present the main aspects, methods and techniques of Ā this vigorous, bold and compassionate approach, and is presented by Debbie Joffe Ellis, wife of Albert Ellis.
Educational Objectives:

- Describe the main aspects of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) which Ā make it effective as a brief therapy for treating depression, anxiety and additional emotional disturbances- Ā and recognize the characteristics of this holistic approach which distinguish it from other cognitive Ā therapies.
- State three REBT techniques that can be used to help clients who are suffering from Ā emotional disturbances such as anxiety and depression.
- Apply REBT’s “ABC” tool to their own clinical Ā practice, and to themselves.

Dr. Debbie Joffe Ellis is a licensed psychologist (Australia) and mental health counselor (New York), adjunct professor at Columbia University TC, and is affiliated with several major psychological associations and societies ĀĀ including being a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and an International Affiliate Member of the American Psychological Association. She has a doctorate in alternative medicine (MDAM) from the Indian Board of Alternative Medicine in affiliation with the World Health Organization, from whom she also received a gold medal (1993) in recognition of her service to the field of alternative and holistic medicine.
