With presenters from both Kansas City and St. Louis areas, the CLE will focus on cultural differences that impact effective representation of a client in a juvenile court case. This will include, but not be limited to cultural and community views on mental health, substance abuse, and personal hygiene and care. The purpose of the presentation will be to highlight experiences from those working within the legal community, including GAL, juvenile office and parent attorneys to improve representation of clients through the juvenile court process. We will also present demographic information concerning cultural and racial make-up of children and families within Missouri’s juvenile court system.
