Born 1942 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, began studying Aikido in 1963.
Shihan Suganuma is one of the last generation students trained by the founder of aikido, Morihei Ueshiba.
In 1970 he was sent to develop aikido in the south of Japan and has lived and taught aikido in Fukuoka since then.
Besides aikido, Shihan Suganuma is also a master of calligraphy and Zen.
