Matthew Bechtold, MD, is a Professor of Clinical Medicine – Division of Gastroenterology – for the University of Missouri and the Harry S. Truman Veterans’ Hospital located in Columbia, Missouri. He holds a master’s in molecular biology from Southeast Missouri State University and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri – Columbia. He then completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Missouri and a fellowship in clinical nutrition at the University of Louisville and Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Bechtold is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Ā He is recognized as a founding member of the Missouri Gastroenterology Society Governing Board and is active on many local and national health committees.
