The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians ans designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
Dr. Burdt is a rheumatologist at the Iowa Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Ā He has been in practice since 1998.A native of Dubuque, IA, he received his medical degree at Des Moines University, then completed his internal medicine training at the University of Iowa-Des Moines Internal Medicine Residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. Ā He is board certified in Rheumatology through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. Ā He is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and serves on the board of the Rheumatology Associationof Iowa. Ā Dr. Burdt is active in both undergraduate and post-graduate medical training at Des Moines University, the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and the Mercy Des Moines residency programs.
Dr. Burdt is a retired medical officer from the Iowa Army National Guard. Ā In his time away from his medical practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife in ministry as a permanent deacon in the Diocese of Des Moines.
