In this lecture, Dr. Downs looks in-depth at pediatric emergency psychiatric care.

Presently, Dr. Downs is an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in Indianapolis, IN. She has been on the faculty at IUSM for the last three years with clinical work including pediatric and psychiatric care, such as the creation of an acute psychiatry clinic for children needing immediate access to care. She is the director of the emergency psychiatry service at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Dr. Downs is originally from Kentucky and attended medical school at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY, followed by a five-year combined residency in pediatrics, general psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry at Brown University in Providence, RI.
