This presentation will take a brief look at the history of cannabis use, why it works in the human body, the Minnesota cannabis program and the pharmacist’s role in the Minnesota program.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the use of cannabis over thousands of years;
- Understand the endocannabinoid system and why cannabis works in the human body;
- Better understand the Minnesota Cannabis program including conditions and products;
- Understand the pharmacist’s role in the Minnesota program
Continuing Education:
This presentation is being submitted to the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy for Continuing Education credit approval (one hour).
To receive Board of Pharmacy credits for this program, the following must be completed:
- Full participation/completion of webinar either during the live program or the archived presentation
- Completion of survey post webinar acknowledging participation
Board of Pharmacy credit processing takes place on the 15th of each month.

Jeff graduated from the University of Minnesota COP in 1980. He has spent over 36 years in retail pharmacy-as owner of Shapiro’s Drug for 16 years, 12 years as manager at Fairview Mesaba Pharmacy and 8 years as manager of Walgreens pharmacy in Hibbing. He received the Distinguished Young Pharmacist award in 1989, the Preceptor of the Year award in 2013, and the Mentor of the Year award in 2018.
