Charles L. Martin has represented Social Security claimants since he graduated from Mercer Law School in 1977, and practices with Martin and Jones in Decatur, Georgia. He has represented over 5,000 claimants in Social Security hearings, and has briefed over 1000 cases in district court and over 100 cases in circuit courts. Now he concentrates his practice on AC and court briefs for other lawyers. He is a past president of NOSSCR, and was awarded its Eileen P. Sweeney Distinguished Service Award in 2008. He served as a member of the North Carolina State Bar’s Specialization Committee for Social Security Disability Law for the maximum number of allowable terms; is a Past Chair of the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice; is the Chair of the Legislative Committee of the Disability Advocacy Section; is the Chair of the Lawyers’ Assistance Committee of the Disability Advocacy Section; is the Chair of the PAC Committee of the Disability Advocacy Section of NCAJ; serves on the CLE Committee of the Disability Advocacy Section; and is a frequent presenter for NOSSCR, NCAJ, and other organizations. George received his BS in psychology from the University of Florida and his law degree from Nova Southeastern University
